The OCYL is a town department that relies on a variety of funding sources In addition to municipal funding for our operating budget, OCYL seeks public and private grants, partnerships and sponsorships to help implemenet and/or fund our programming. Approximately 25% of our families seek financial assistance needed for these educational opportunities. We also rely upon the generosity of individual donors to accomplish all of our goals.
We thank our current and past supporters and look forward to working with new partners and donors as our programs continue to grow!
Tax deductible gifts can be directed toward specific programs or events by indicating in the memo of a check. Please make all donations payable to "TOWN OF CUMBERLAND-OCYL". Reference EIN #05-6000115 on your tax return.
- Gifts of any size are welcome for general programming, Early Childhood, STEAM shop and Backpack to Briefcase programs. If you would like to sponsor a specific child/family, please contact the Director first.
- Give the gift of reading: Adopt a Reader! The cost of a child attending 36 weeks of our Early Childhood Literacy program taught by a certified teacher in a class room with a 1:6 (max 1:8) teacher to student ratio is just $1,900. Any way you look at it, it is a small price to pay for the gift of literacy and a life-long love of reading!
- Give the gift of music: Donations to the “Bob Rowan Fund” will be used for students of need who register for music lessons at OCYL.
- Give recognition: Invest in the future of a graduating high school senior! Members of Youth Commission who are graduating and meet other leadership and civic engagement criteria are eligible for a small scholarship when funds are available.
