We Need YOUR help with Recycling

 

Residential Yard Waste

Starting Saturday April 5th through Saturday May 31st Coastal Recycling will start collecting yard waste on Saturdays.

 

Terms: Yard waste MUST be in biodegradable paper bags or regular paper bags.  Loose yard waste in barrels WILL NOT be collected.  There is an 8 bag limit per household; bags can not be more than 35 pounds each.  Small branches in lengths no longer than three feet are to be bundled with string, rope or twine.  NO NYLON OR DUCT TAPE.

Mayor's Letter

02Yard Waste – must be put into brown paper bags only. Limit of 8 bags per week per household, not weighing more than 35lbs.   Branches are to be no longer than 4 feet in length, and they must be tied up in bundles with twine. Saturday Collection is April thru May and October thru November. As always, brown bags are available for purchase at various merchants. Definition of “yard waste”- Vegetation, grass, leaves, weeds etc.

04Bulk Items
– must be put curbside with weekly trash – limit one item per week. This includes household items only (furniture).  Call Coastal Recycling for more details.

05NO CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS IS ALLOWED.


06Christmas Trees
– Real trees without wrapping/bags must be brought to either Tucker Field on Mendon Road, Cumberland Highway Department at the Kent Street Garage (off Blackstone St.)or the Town Garage on Nate Whipple Hwy.  Do not put trees out for trash collection.

07RECYCLE BINS

If your bin needs replacing due to poor condition, return it to Public Works (located at the Town Hall 45 Broad st. second floor) for a free replacement bin. Replacement/additional green and blue bins are available at town hall for $5 through Public Works. If you would like to use your own bin as additional recycling, “EXTRA RECYCLING SETOUT” stickers are also available at no charge.
New residents have 30 days to pick up their first set free of charge.  Please bring a copy of  purchase/sale receipt, or post office change of address receipt.
