What effect would a Municipal Groundwater Well
have on Franklin Farmís East Field?

Dear Resident:

The Cumberland Water Department (CWD) and its representatives will begin the prolonged pumping tests of the test wells located on Schofield Farm.  The prolonged tests will begin on TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 30, 2014 and are expected to be completed by Friday October 10, 2014, however there is an outside possibility that the tests could continue until Tuesday October 14, 2014.

The prolonged pumping tests will be conducted continuously over the above mentioned time period 24 hours a day until the conclusion of the tests.  There will be a generator running for the entire period to power the pumps as well as some work lights.  CWD has specified that the generator which will be used during the tests will emit the lowest reasonable noise level possible.  CWD and its representatives will take groundwater level readings from various observation wells and stream flow gauges on and adjacent to the sight over the test duration so residents should expect to see flashlights being used in the area at night.

CWD would like to take this opportunity to thank residents in advance for their cooperation and understanding for any inconvenience which may occur during the performance of the prolonged pumping tests.  Please contact our office Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00AM and 3:00PM with any questions or concerns you may have.
