Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance & Resources

In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), the Town of Cumberland, Rhode Island, will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities. The Town is committed to increasing opportunities for individuals with disabilities by facilitating full and equal participation in all aspects of civic life. In keeping with this mission, the Mayor’s Office provides the general public with information about accessible programs and services and acts as your liaison to the various departments of Town Government.

Process & Procedure

In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the ADA, the Town has established a grievance procedure (PDF) for individuals with disabilities. ANY AND ALL complaints that a municipal program, service, or activity is not accessible to persons with disabilities should be submitted to Mayor Mutter, ADA Coordinator. Grievances can be submitted via the form on this page, via email, or another method.

    This Form may be used by any individual to file a complaint alleging discrimination on the basis of disability in meetings, services, programs, or activities of the Town of Cumberland under Title II of the ADA. Alternate means of filing a complaint, such as personal interviews or tape recordings, are available upon request for people with disabilities. All complaints will be kept on file for a minimum of 3 years.
